Chocolate Avocado Mousse

So I LOVE my sweets. The hardest part about having a healthy diet is the sweets for me! Especially at night I get this feeling sometimes where I want something sweet....like chocolate! Today I made an avocado based chocolate mousse. Now I know it sounds a bit weird, but it actually isn't! The avocado gives that perfect smooth and creamy texture for the mouse. I substituted ingredients in order to make it a healthier option. I would eat this on a low carb day for me since it is going to be high in HEALTHY fats due to the avocado!

There are a couple optional ingredients! If you want to taste less of the avocado and don't mind more calories then you can use the semi-sweet morsels. The Cocoa powder option offers less calories. As well as what milk and sweetener you choose to use!

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado

  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk you would like to use)

  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (or semi-sweet chocolate morsels)

  • 2 tbsp splenda (or any preferred sweetener, agave syrup is also yummy)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Whipped Cream (optional)

  • Berries for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place avocado, milk, chocolate (cocoa powder or MELTED semi-sweet chocolate morsels), sweetener, and vanilla in blender or food processor. Make sure to blend ingredients well and use a spatula to help mix ingredients that may stick to the sides of your machine!

  2. Place in fridge for 30min-1hr to chill!

  3. Add whipped cream and berries if you would like.

  4. Enjoy!
