Hi guys! This is my very own doggy birthday cake! I have been making this cake for years and my dogs just love it! I came across making this cake with using ingredients that I already have in my kitchen on a weekly basis.
Ingredients: Cake:
1 cup of flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup applesauce
1 very ripe banana smashed
1 egg
Frosting:
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 8" baking dish.
In a large bowl combine flour and baking soda.
Make a small well in the middle of the dry ingredients.
Add in vegetable oil, peanut butter, applesauce, and banana. Combine the ingredients until very well mixed together.
Lastly add in the egg, mix well.
Pour mixture (will be think) into an 8" round or square pan that has been greased with oil.
Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes. Toothpick test (if the toothpick slides in the center of the cake and comes out clean it is done.)
Allow cake to cool on a wire rack or just in the pan on the stove..(it won't hurt it).
After cooling mix greek yogurt and peanut butter together. Spread on cool cake with a spatula.
Top with your dogs favorite treat! (Make sure to store the cake in the fridge).
