Linguine and Clams

Hi there the other day I made linguine and clams and posted the pictures on my IG story. I had quite a few of you ask me for this recipe that literally took me 20 minutes to make! Its an amazing dish and it is so easy! It will be sure to impress any guests or even yourself with it's 5 star restaurant quality taste! There is no long story needed here just the steps and ingredients lol.

Serves about 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 cans (6.5oz) minced clams (drained)

  • 1 to 2 dozen fresh living clams (all depends on how many of these bad boys you wanna throw on top in the shell

  • 1/2 cup of butter

  • 9 cloves finely chopped garlic

  • 1 medium sized yellow onion chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup dry white wine (I used Sauv Blanc)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 pound linguine pasta

  • Italian parsley

  • parmesan cheese

First wash the live clams and set them aside. Next take half of the garlic and half of the olive oil and place them in a pan large enough that will fit the clams and pasta! (This makes clean up easier, only two pots to clean!...you're welcome).

Boil water make pasta according to package. I throw mine on the wall to see if it sticks and thats how I know it is ready lol. (Thanks dad).

Throw the olive oil and garlic in the pan on medium to high heat and make sure you watch it because no one likes burnt garlic. Once the garlic is lightly brown and the fragrance is strong spoon them out with a slotted spoon and throw it away. Its done.

Add the fresh live clams in the pan with the wine and water cover it and let those bad boys cook and open up (takes about 10 minutes). Once they are all opened take them out and the juice and set them aside!

Place the olive oil, garlic, and onion in the pan. Sautee until the onions become translucent. Add the minced clams, and butter cook for 1-2 min until the butter is all mixed in. Add about a cup or a cup and a half of the fresh clam juice!

Add in cooked pasta and fresh open clams and coat with the sauce! Serve immediately and garnish with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan. Dinner is served! Yum!

If you make this recipe let me know how much you loved it...or didn't 🙄 lol in the comments below! Have a great evening!
