Meal Prep Life!

Weekly Meal Prep!

We are all in a rush 24/7! How is it possible to always eat clean and always make sure you are eating healthy? Easy... the answer is meal prep! Granted meal prepping can be time consuming but it doesn't have to be expensive. Here are some pros and cons and honest truths about weekly meal prepping.

I remember when I first started meal prepping, it was very time consuming. But after awhile you get the hang of how long everything is going to cook for and how long everything will take. The more you do it the better you get at it. (Kinda like everything else in life). Especially now that I am pregnant I am taking extra concern into what I am feeding myself and my future baby boy! He deserves the best...and so do I!

SOME CONS:

I would say the hardest part about meal prepping is trying to get variety. Because it is possible however for the mom and working woman (and/or both) TIME is everything. Time is what we always need more of. SOOOO once you get a system down of the meal prep that works for you, you don't necessarily have the time to make something new each day! It can get pricey! But it does NOT have to be! You don't have to shop at sprouts or Whole Foods in order to feel like you are eating healthier. I go grocery shopping at Walmart and the local grocery store (Albertsons, Vons, Trader Joes, etc) and I can find everything I need! Eating healthy isn't always about where you are buying your food but WHAT you are buying!

SOME PROS:

There are so many great things that come out of meal prepping. TIME also being on the pro side; you can save so much time every day just from having meals already packed and ready to go. The "grab and go" shelf in your fridge should be a real thing! Running from job to job or from kid to kid can be a lot and having fresh homemade meals is a definite win over a McDonald's drive-thru any day to me! Although we may feel that the grocery store trips may be more expensive now that we have started meal prepping it is because our food cost on spending it out at other places has gone down significantly! Who wants to pay $15 for a salad!? Not me. I strongly believe that my own health and the health of my family is worth the extra grocery money not the extra drive through money!

There are many different ways to meal prep and so many different plans that you can follow. Everyone has their own way; however if you do not have a way and would love some guidance I would love to help you! I write personalized meal plans for everyone depending on your goals!
