Smoothie Time!!!

I love smoothies. They are by far one of my favorite things to consume. I have a smoothie every day. So of course when I found out I was expecting that wasn't going to change rather, just get better! This is one of my favorite smoothie recipes and honestly one of the best snacks or small meals that we could feed our bodies and our babies! 👶 ❤️ There are so many benefits from having a smoothie not only from the health and nutrients but also the time you save! They are quick, easy, and delicious! Sounds too good to be true but it is.

Smoothies can be a great way when you are in your first trimester to get some nutrients and calories in! If you are experiencing nausea and fatigue, a smoothie can be a great way to both energize you and help you keep some food down. (Since Im sure eating something heavy is not too appealing at the moment). TIP: Adding a small amount of ginger to any smoothie can help reduce the nausea feeling!

Now that I am towards the end of my second trimester I honestly don't think I have ever been so in love with smoothies, who knew I could love them more. I go from not hungry to STARVING (kind of like a baby; funny how that is lol) within seconds and good thing blending takes just that! It is so easy and so fun to throw a bunch of your favorite healthy foods all together and have it come out tasting like paradise!

One of my FAVS: Berry-Banana

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup frozen organic berries

  2. 1 organic banana

  3. 1 tbsp Chia Seeds

  4. 1/2 cup greek yogurt (I like vanilla but be your own creator!)

  5. 1 cup organic kale or spinach (or as much as you want)

  6. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (if you are allergic to nuts like my hubby or just don't like almond milk using low-fat milk or Toddler Apple Juice {half the sugar} is something I both use to substitute!)

Tips: If you like your smoothie a little bit thicker try adding ice cubes! For a little bit thinner add a little water! If you do not have frozen fruit you can add ice cubes in from the beginning to give it that cold thick texture and just add a little less liquid.

Well thats all for this smoothie talk!

I hope you enjoy your smoothie and have a beautiful day!
